Barbados is located at latitude 13° 10' N and longitude 59° 32' W and is the most easterly of the islands in the Lesser Antilles archipelago. Constantly cooled by the trade winds of the Atlantic, it has a tropical climate and enjoys pleasant summer-like conditions all year round.

For centuries, Barbados has been seen internationally as the gateway to the Caribbean.  Despite its tiny land area (431 sq. km.), the country's strategic location - coupled with healthy living conditions and legendary political stability - has allowed it to become the regional hub for transportation and communications.  Today, it is a thriving and highly reputable centre for tourism, international business and financial services.

Energy Tip!

If you have torchiere fixtures with halogen lamps, consider replacing them with compact fluorescent torchieres. Compact fluorescent torchieres use 60% to 80% less energy, can produce more light (lumens), and do not get as hot as the halogen torchieres. Halogen torchieres are a fire risk because of the high temperature of the halogen bulb.
